Plane declared emergency!

Wow, what a shocking experience! We used to fly Zambian Air whilst residing in Zambia, until they 'dropped'us, after which, the only Airline serving the route was SA Airlink! We used them very often before Zamair's misfortune, but they became very expensive and with all the flying we had to do, it became a bit much!!

Well, that very same SA Airlink had a crash today! They do Domestic flights all over South Africa and quite a lot of flights throughout Africa!

This flight was apparently en route from Durban Airport to Pietermaritzburg early this morning. A Sapa reporter on the scene said the plane broke into pieces after crashing into the Merebank Secondary School's concrete fence shortly after take-off at around 08:00.

Four people were critically injured, and fortunately it is school holidays now, there were no children at the school, which, if otherwise, could have resulted in a huge tragedy.

One of the injured seems to have been a lady pedestrian, walking next to the school's fence on the sidewalk. It seems there were only the two pilots and one flight attendant in the aircraft.
