After an excellent night's sleep at Chris and Siobhan's place we headed home with only a short detour along the coast road to have a look at the birdlife. I saw three little egrets (egrets!) feeding on the saltmarsh, but they were too far away to get a decent photo. Still, there was a variety of ducks and geese much closer to hand. I liked the way this pintail kept showing me how he got his name.

The weather was a lot calmer on the return journey. Now the hire car's returned, a risotto has been cooked and consumed and an early night is suggesting itself - I need to brace myself for getting back to the Proper Job tomorrow.
