The Beeches, Mote Park
A lovely December morning with blue skies and sunshine. Being as the pool at The Village is closed for 3 days while a new spa pool is installed I decided to go back to where it all started in 1987 - Mote Leisure Pool. This is where I swam every week, sometimes twice a week until joining David Lloyd in 2003. In those days the Mote Park Pool was 33m long, now a partition has been fitted to reduce the length to 25m.
Thoroughly enjoyed the swim, the lanes were like motorways compared to the narrow defiles at The Village and the water was just right. Nice views of Mote Park from the windows.
On the way back I stopped off in Mote Park for this shot of the Beech Trees which form an Avenue through the Park (and out onto Mote Road I just realised today) Click here to see The Beeches in April 2013 looking the opposite direction.
Then back home to do the food shopping online and Doreen's shopping on line too. And a lot more chorey type things. Bottled some more pickled onions and peeled a mountain of vegetables from the allotment for tea.
All in all a very productive sort of day.
