Collision at the top of Leigh Road!

When we were about to go to bed 0n Monday evening, we heard tremendous bangs outside; two cars had collided! One had been travelling along Middleleigh-Portway when the other pulled out at the T-junction with Leigh Road. An eye-witness who had been walking up Leigh Road said the first car had not been going fast, but the second pulled out suddenly (it is hard to see approaching traffic on the right at that corner). The noise was terrific, followed by smoke and steam! Luckily he had his phone on him to call 999. Amazingly, no one seems to have been badly injured (maybe saved by air-bags), but they were being checked in an ambulance that arrived, and there were two police cars with flashing blue lights to warn other road users, etc etc. As the witness said, the two cars are "write-offs".....
