Contrasts

We got the tree up and decorated.
There are ladders, pruning shears, empty plastic storage boxes scattered.
Distinctly un-Christmassy.
We are having the sliding door to the guest room changed to a real one.
The sliding door would fall off the track and get stuck.
It was only a matter of time before one of the grandkids got trapped in there.
The blood spatters on the wall
The power tools, generator, dust and noise
Distinctly un-Christmassy.
It will all come together in a day or two.
Things must get worse before they can get better....
In the meantime, we are enjoying our "fake" fireplace.
Today is a "spare the air" day due to increased air pollution.
Wood burning fires are banned.
It is our 6th night of record cold.
OilMan doesn't want to look at his vegetables.

I liked the contrast of the gothic Ledson winery, the black cows in the field, the strip of dormant vines, Hood Mountain and the blue sky.
