Number 16

This street is interesting - one side of the street has been declared "Red Zone" and the houses on this side of the street are being demolished. It amazes me how quickly the gardens disappear and the weeds take over. These wild flowers have grown from seeds spread by the Greening the Rubble group last year.

The other side of the street has been declared "Green Zone" - these houses will stay, and when all the demolishing is finished instead of being a block from the river park will have river park frontage.

Number 16 is on the side that's Red so the house is gone.

The Government decided who was red and who was green, and although there was an appeal process available it was only an illusion really.
