Nightbirds
My own mini Song Title Blip Challenge continues, and tonight's blip is inspired by the Ryan Adams song of the same name, as well as a Morepork that was issuing it's haunting song in the moonlight as I captured this image.
Some tech notes for you on how the image was created: I 'painted with light' using a speedlight set to low power with an amber diffuser sitting on it. This was to offset the cool white balance on the camera (I usually set my night shots on the Kelvin setting on the Nikon to between 3500 and 4000K) and to give the foreground a bit more punch. I fired the flash four times around the tree and garden in the course of the 30-second exposure.
