Birds on a wire

I am not an expert on any sort of animal behaviour. I was intrigued to see all the birds on the wire when a few minutes previously they had all been in the field picking at seeds. There was nothing that I could see that had disturbed them and it was the middle of the day so not time to roost. Perhaps they were just full up or wanted a social chin wag. Who knows?
