Dawn at Swan Lake

This morning it was so cold in the Rhone Valley as we are having a winter Temperature inversion, the cold air sinking to the valley floor and the mountains in the warm air. I could not believe the number of swans on this little lake, these are just a few of at least 70 that seem to ne wintering there. Can anyone tell me why the mountain reflections' colours are so much more vibrant than the real mountains? Is it because the lake is so dark in the shadow?

Large if you like swans.

Thanks so much for all the stars and favourites for yesterday's sunset!
