The real Christmas

I've been trying over the last couple of days to tell Charlotte that Christmas is not all about decorations, presents and all the other commercial trimmings. Her school is very much multi-cultural and although they are doing a Christmas play loosely based on the nativity I am not sure how much they are actually taught about Jesus and the Christmas story.

This is a little crib, no more than 2 inches high, which I have had since being very young. It is slightly luminous when the lights go out and I always used to have it by my bed at Christmas. It got misplaced for a few years but I found it again and it's back by my bed again.
