Ghanaian Food?

So my anthropology and development professor made Ghanaian food for us today...

It was really weird because my mom makes a soup thing that looks and tastes exactly like the thing on the left and the thing on the right looks like sticky rice. I'm also 99% sure that my mom couldn't tell you where Ghana is on a map. lol
