This is in my opinion,the WORLDS most dementing bird....big call...but TRUE
I hasten to add though,for the 15 minutes I got to observe it close up,fascinating...
For non Australians,it's their call....It makes one want to throw a rock....koo ee...over and over and over...usually starting at 3 in the morning.....
This is a common Koel...male....(the female is banded stripes,green,brown,cream)...
I watched a pair doing their noisy thing....the male following her with the yellow berry in his mouth.....I kept saying to myself,p l e a s e take it....but no....so on and on and on......

Koels migrate between New Zealand and Borneo each year between October and March via the East coast of Aus.....They're a variety of Cuckoo who parasite cup shaped nests of Honeyeaters....nice....not...But hey,seems it's the way it goes...
