A Blipped Pot Never Boils

Waiting for the water to boil for tea. The kettle in G's flat doesn't appear to work - think it must be a dodgy connection somewhere as the on light seems to come on when you shoogle it a bit but it steadfastly refuses to heat up any water. So we have resorted to boiling water on the hob instead.
