Life's a beach..

Saw this lifeguard waiting for a lift to the beach at about 8H30 this morning in Plettenberg Bay, a very popular holiday resort for up country visitors who flock to the coast from early December to early January.

An hour later the main road was jam packed with cars bearing "foreign" number plates! Although our local economies are very positively affected by the influx our habits change distinctly during the 6 weeks they're here - very early shopping to avoid crowds, stay away from the beach and entertain at home!

There's a local saying that summer only comes to the Garden Route on 10th December and so far so good.
