Dartmouth Lower Ferry
I've blipped Dartmouth Higher Ferry a number of times (as it's the one we use) but I don't think I've blipped the lower one before. This council-operated ferry is much smaller than the higher ferry. Two car-carrier platforms are towed to-and-fro alongside each other, by boats that turn niftily halfway across. It sits close to the mouth of the Dart, beside Bayards Cove (where they used to film the TV series, The Onedin Line, back in the '70s). Acrosss the river are houses in Kingswear.
We had lunch at The Cherub Inn. Never been there before. It was very cosy, eating at a table right by the real open fire - this on one of the mildest December days I can remember - I didn't even wear a coat!
Just behind the right-hand ferry boat, you might make out the cruise boat, still doing trips up and down the Dart in December!
This morning we had the new carpet fitted in the lounge-diner at the bungalow ... am very pleased with its pinkitude!
