Minaret

Everyone, everyone here wears duvet-sized puffa jackets and wellies in winter. Not typical cosmopolitan city wear but leather soled boots don't get you very far on the vertiginous hills and obstacle-strewn pavements.

I was going to see if friends coming for dinner last night wanted to cancel because of the snow, then remembered they're Alaskan and felt feeble.
