The Christmas dresser...
Had a busy day at work today then out for dinner with a group of colleagues, many of whom had travelled up from England. We went to the Bothy in the West End and had a lovely meal and a great evening.
The decor was Christmassy but different. Tasteful and traditional. Our English guests were most impressed with the venue, food and service...
I liked the festive apprearance of this old dresser with its cups and saucers.... it made me think of Beatrix Potter's "The Tailor of Gloucester" when the poor old tailor inadvertently releases all his cat's hoard of trapped mice....
"And out from under tea-cups and from under bowls and basins, stepped other and more little mice who hopped away down off the dresser and under the wainscot."
