Goodbye Marty McFly

Our beautiful lutino (like albino but canary yellow with no markings) budgie Marty McFly died today.

While i took the boys to school, the neighbours cat climbed through the toilet window and pulled the bird cage over which was atop a bookshelf because of our Christmas tree being right near the hook where we usually hung his cage we were concerned about the lights on the tree so we had put his cage elsewhere and were just making sure the cat didn't get in, but unfortunately the cat caught marty when the cage fell and i came home to a dead bird on the ground with feathers everywhere and his cage on the floor, i forgot that i left the toilet window open.

I called Andre and told him then i cleaned up and put marty in a box with tissue so the boys could see when they got home and say goodbye.

He was such a sweet bird, he was young and he was just starting to talk. He loved hopping around the house chewing things. He made the sweetest sounds, he was such an easy pet,really low maintenance.

Marley didnt quite understand he kept saying 'maybe i can fix marty?' 'marty wake up'.

We buried him in the garden, andre and mar put this wee cross together.

We really miss his chirps its so quiet without him.
