Me time
Oops, another missed blip yesterday, and another lazy one today! Thanks to my car ending up at the wrong airport in the wrong country last week, most of the yesterday was taken up by getting home from Amsterdam...
Today I had a bit of a rest day. I spent a lot of the afternoon thinking, taking stock of some recent events and important conversations, and working through some ideas and plans that I made while I was away. I always feel inspired when I'm in Amsterdam, and this week I spent time with some really inspirational people, so I had lots to think about. I came home totally motivated to make my plans a reality, and today I even put a little bit of the plan into action. For the first time in my life I'm really setting some long term goals, with proper dates to aim for, which is exciting and scary at the same time. Normally I just drift along, doing whatever I find interesting or fun, and seeing where life takes me!
Late this afternoon I went to pick up a package from the post office, and noticed that the town next to mine has recently got a branch of my favourite coffee shop. I called in and spent an hour or so sitting and relaxing, flicking through this new photography book (thanks for the recommendation Colin) and enjoying the change of scenery. With this book, some cool jazz music, an iced lemonade and my back to the window I almost forgot I was in one of my least favourite towns in the country :)
