Beautiful grey

On our way to banya through the back yards of our island. This is that house just the parallel street to ours. There is a kindergarden on the first floor and in the evening you can see the beautiful stucco and pillars - all in white - just in the kindergarden. Would love to make some pictures in there, maybe I should just ask one day, the kids normally have a walk in our neighbors' backyard every day from 11-12.
This is the way you get from that backyard to this one and then through the archway you can see on my today's blip out to the street (I guess I have no blip from that street yet). This is special in St. Petersburg, in the old parts - if you know the way, you can have a walk through the backyards, just crossing the streets sometime and getting into the next backyard. Unfortunately during the last years many of the backyards were locked (so people don't sit there anymore overnight and drink or what ever) but still you can find some and it is really worth to have a walk there, away from the guidebook St. Petersburg....

Beautiful grey... there is a lot grey in St. Petersburg. The weather is grey, many people are wearing black, blue, grey... the puddles are grey, the sky is grey, some of the buildings are grey... but there is also beautiful grey like this building build in 1913-14.
