Bradford Sculpture

Yorkshire is world famous for many things, including sculpture, with Barbara Hepworth of Wakefield and Henry Moore of Castleford being among our locally born leading lights in that field. Our Yorkshire Sculpture Park near Wakefield is a stunning open-air gallery featuring work by UK and international artists, including Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth. The park’s collection of works by Moore is one of the largest open-air displays of his bronzes in Europe and on a beautiful summer day there is absolutely no better way of viewing these magnificent works of art than in the wide open spaces and green fields of Yorkshire. Today however wasn’t summer. Nor was it a beautiful day. Nor was it the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. It was Bradford. In winter. In the rain. And although Bradford has a huge number of important and documented sculptural pieces, more in fact than you could shake a stick at, so far I haven't been able to find out anything about this sculptural ‘egg’ residing in City Park in the centre of the city!
