10 Downing Street

Nursery visited the Prime Minister's Christmas tree in Downing Street today. I popped along and was amused by the No 10 bauble on the tree. Didn't spot the PM, but then the melee of preschool children was a bit chaotic - I probably wouldn't have noticed! It was work as usual for most people and the officials going in and out (and the police) were very accommodating with those of us attempting photos with toddlers on the doorstep.

Today was supposed to have been our department Christmas lunch, instead we had a really nice indoor picnic (around our desks). Smoked salmon (with lemon and black pepper), cheese, bread, crackers, fruit, mince pies, and a little sparkling wine to wash it down. It was a treat even if we had to carry on work around it. It's been a long week and it's so good to get to the weekend!
