Of mats and floors

I generally like mats because they make floors look cosier and, well, nicer.

My husband disagrees, because it would be so much easier to hoover the floor if there were absolutely no mats at all.

I guess he has a valid point because he's the one who normally does the hoovering - apparently I'm not thorough and meticulous enough.

Still, I don't think I'm going to give up on too many mats, even if they do collect all the splinters and dust Helga produces by chewing wood or just preening.
