The Packaging

This isn't any kind of eco rant really, although it could be if I didn't have a really bad cold.
This is more of a WHY??
I understand the need for packaging that protects our precious online purchases, but the shear enormity of the protection for some items is unbelievable.
This is a nearly 6 foot high wall or corrugated cardboard wrapping a very well wrapped item. (can't say what or santa would have to kill me) This item 'that cannot be named' would have fitted into this box over 6 times over.
Other outstandingly over wrapped items arrive daily and the recycling mountain is growing, this is BEFORE the landslide of Christmas hits the bins.
