Follow Yonder Star..

Went to Mum's today for our Edgcott Christmas lunch which went down very well.

We popped up to the church to say hello to Dad and put a small arrangement on the grave.

Went inside the church to look at the preparations the village folk are making for Christmas. Its all rather nice with Lady Buckinghamshire doing the flower arrangements & his Lordship decorating the tree.

The church itself is getting in a sorry state - it looks as though one half is falling away & some of the tiled floor has large gaps. There are cracks appearing in the walls & it looks like it will fall down in the next 50years. It is Grade II listed with bits dating from the 12th century. It is such a shame to see these churches going this way with so much pressure on the community to keep them open.

Mum has spent most of her life trying to keep it going. I fear that it will become redundant, and fall into disrepair in the near future unless funding can be found to carry out the repairs. My parents were married here, I was Christened here, my grandparents & my dad are buried here....
