PROUDLY LOCAL
It all started when a group of boys, who had dropped out of school and were dabbling in drugs, glue sniffing etc, approached Imke and told her that they were bored and wanted to do something that would earn them money. She taught them to do bead work which is now sold at the Saturday market where people can also see them at work.
These children now have an identity, marked by their T shirts and are starting to learn how to integrate into the community and more important, develop a pride in themselves and what they are achieving.
I have huge admiration for Imke and those who are helping her.
