Joyeux Noël

Tonight K, and I met up with some friends for our annual Christmas meal. This year we went to Cafe Rouge on Fredrick Street and apart from being slightly crammed into the restaurant it was a really good and enjoyable meal which was reasonably priced.

In previous years we have been to the Ghillie Dhu in the West End and Blonde on St Lenoards Street (which does an amazing flour less Chocolate cake pudding). The general consensus was that this year was the better meal based on the three courses & that the festive menu had enough choices to keep all 11 of us (including a vegetarian) happy :)

As per tradition every year I never seem to have any pictures, this year this is the only photo I took while waiting to go into one of the tiniest bathrooms.

After this we went of a little pub crawl along Thistle Street where all the pubs were busy despite the street it's self being deceivingly empty. Good times tho :)

On other news, after work I managed to drive myself to Fort Kinnaird for a spot of shopping from Midlothian and home again through rush hour traffic. On its own you may think "so what" but for this country lass who only just started properly driving again after a long break due to being a student and a fan of city buses/walking, it's a milestone. Not a major one but it's still one :)
