Christmas Carols

Singing Christmas Carols in Gouda's church Sint Jan (Saint John) at the annual celebration of lighting up the Christmas tree.
The eve is called Gouda by Candlelight and that's 'cause one of the city's products it's known for are the Gouda candles (Gouda cheese and chalk pipes and sweet syrop waffles are others). The happening on Gouda market square attracts people in their thousands and more. I got there together with my youngest son for an eve out and altho' it was cold the weather was fine; no rain no snow, just the Wintry cold; being packed in the massive crowd it did not affect us much.
Did find this impression of last year's Gouda Candle Night on Youtube to give you an idea of the coming together.

After the lighting up of the Christmas tree we all moved towards the Saint John church where we were invited to join in singing Christmas Carols together with the men choir Gouda's Liedertafel and Caecilia Gouda Harmony Band ~ a dear introduction of the Season's times!
