Big Day!

This morning we were off to the Annual Kiwanis Pancake Day. It's Phyl's favorite day of the year, I think. Just a big village breakfast; everyone shows up; everyone's happy. Phyl loves Pancake Day the way I love the day of the first snowfall. I hope we all have that special day in each year that turns us into children again -- that fills us with that kind of joy and excitement.

After Pancake Day it was off to the Farmer's Market for some ingredients for this evening's dinner. My sister and her significant other are coming to dine before we head over to our town's Illinois Theatre Center for a performance of "A Shayna Maidel". Sam, a young man who stayed with us for a month this summer -- son of friends of ours who was moving to Chicago to try to begin a career in the theatre -- is in the cast.

Busy day. Whew! Gotta run now.
