Living in Brabant

Pretty Polly!

This afternoon I took some bits and pieces down to the second-hand shop, and of course couldn't resist going inside......

They've had a revamp, and their new selection of 2nd-hand books is great. I was remarkably restrained and only bought two books, one for myself and a stocking filler book for my friend. As good as new, and all for under 2 euros!

After that I went to the market, then cycled to a farm shop on the outskirts of town. (Their website said they sold cider, turns out they didn't, but it was such a glorious afternoon, I didn't mind cycling out).

On the way back I went to the garden centre, pottered around their Christmas department, was given a very welcoming, warm complimentary cup of hot chocolate by one of the staff.

I was seaching for an angel for the tree ('Every Time a Bell Rings an Angel Gets His Wings'), and found just what I wanted (and more).

To my surprise, when I came home the neighbour was washing his windows with his parrot on his shoulder. The parrot likes the company you see.... This is his best side I believe :)

My partner isn't down this weekend, so we'll be Skyping each other in a little while, after that I'm off to see the Santa run in town.

Enjoy your Saturday evening!
