White (goods) noise

There is a lot of trial and error in looking after a baby, most of it revolving around working out a)why they are crying and how to fix that and b) why they aren't sleeping and how to fix that. The two seem inextricably linked! Anyway this morning 77 was having to work again and in an effort to get baby S to stop crying and sleep I put him down in front of the washing machine. It worked reasonably well, although the more observant of you will spot that I didn't manage to check the pockets of my jeans before I put them in the machine and hence a £5 note has been thoroughly laundered.
