Back to the regularly scheduled programming...
I'm back from my outing to the Big City, and am giving you what turns out to be an easy blip, taken from inside my warm living room! Thanks for the nice comments on my back blip of me and "The Tree". And five more New York City shots, starting here
This is a young yell0w-bellied sapsucker, a member of the woodpecker family and a bird that has been a regular around our yard for the last few months. According to migration charts, he should be wintering a little south of here, but with food and water easy to find, he may end up staying all winter.
Five other "birds in blizzard" shots posted starting HERE on Flickr
We are in the midst of Winter Storm Electra (for reasons unknown to me, the weather people have now decided to name winter storms!) I got back here just ahead of the major snowfall and have been tucked safely in the house all afternoon. Hubs has the sniffles and a sore throat, so we are both taking it easy. The storm is supposed to change over to ice tonight which means that tomorrow morning will be a mess.
Peg is planning to come out tomorrow (she's staying over tonight in the City) and then continue on to Corning Monday morning after a good sleep here on the Lane. Some wine, some food, some giggles...
Hope everyone in the path of this storm is staying safe!
Ten more sleeps...
