The Birth of the West Street Tunnel

It struck me, looking at the girders beginning to bridge West Street for the M74 completion, that this is going to be a tunnel rather than a bridge. These are the girders for the east-bound carriage - another 3 are going to appear further north, and then presumably there's all the concrete cladding.

It's going to be a gloomy spot.
