In the bleak mid winter

We boarded our ship, Nord Norge at midnight and within an hour we'd set sail from Tromso. We are sailing down the Norwegian Coast, always within a mile from land. The ship docks at various tiny ports, picks up a few passengers, supplies, post and drops off a similar number. Although we are here until the ship docks in Bergen, the population of the ship will have changed many times.
The facilities on board are functional, extremely clean and very comfortable and so far today we have moved around from one comfy lounge to another, having the odd cup of coffee and totally enjoying this relaxed lifestyle.
There is very little daylight at this time of year and it is very bleak in this part of Norway. Conversely life here in mid June is 24 hours of daylight. This blip is of Stonmarkennes, the home of the Hurtigruten line whose ship we are on.
Later this evening we dock at the Lofoten Islands, one of the places I've always wanted to visit, are aiming to go on excursion. In a few minutes there is a demonstration by the chef on how to gut fish, I might just pass on that one!
