I haven't had much time for anything lately. Today we went for a walk around the nature reserve. There were not many people there at all. Perhaps they were all busy Christmas shopping.
The highlights were seeing a bullfinch, redwings, greater spotted woodpecker and a close up of a sparrowhawk which flew through the feeding station just a few feet from us. I didn't manage to photograph any of them.
We headed for the eastern reed beds in the hope of seeing a murmuration. We did see a little flock of starlings gathering in the distance. We always hope that we will catch a sighting of the bittern in the reed beds. Can you spot him?
I am going to have to think of something to reignite my blipping. Perhaps a new year resolution?
