The lonely Heron

Walked alongside the Eden at Kirkby Stephen with the sun shining. Some decent bird spots including a Dipper in full song. My camera didn't have the capability to snap him but at maximum zoom the larger Heron was possible if rather blurred.

The lack of foliage in winter makes spotting the birds much easier. A gaggle of long tailed tits amused me with their acrobatics for ages as did a tree creeper -an avian spiderman.
