My topsy-turvy life

In the dark, dark bar

Rich and Stacebob came up today for their first trip to Shrewsbury. We did it today as it was the big local-ish derby clash between Shrewsbury Town and Walsall.

Shrewsbury 0 Walsall 1
It was actually quite a fun, although you couldn't really call it an end-to-end match as neither team knew what to do once they got to the area. Eventually though Walsall managed to grab a goal and then hang on to win, but not without a big scare. The ball was played into the area and with an open goal about a yard in front of him Tom Eaves managed to put it over the bar...it gets worse every time I see it.

After the match it was home to watch the other scores coming in while drinking Mulled wine -I know, classy- and then into town for food and pub exploration. We went to a few different pubs and thanks to me uttering the words, "well, we'll never know what it's like if we don't go in..." we ended up in House of the Rising Sun. It was very, very dark inside, the photo is not edited, but they served Ichiban so we ordered a couple of pints.
It wasn't served in pints but in these glasses in the picture. Google says they were schooners aparently.
The picture isn't actually posed, I put it on a timer because of the light levels and me & Rich just happened to be drinking at the same time.
