Single Parent

The Cob came second in a battle with a Lurcher last week so now she's on her own with eight mouths to feed. Fortunately the Cygnets are all just about old enough to look after themselves so they'll be moving on in the next few months, leaving her on her own for the Winter. Swans usually mate for life but hopefully she'll meet someone else down the local swan disco and be OK.

Aside from wandering along the riverbank it was a very lazy day today - bacon rolls, Sunday papers, Wii playing, Sunday lunch, finishing off homework and then a very nice surprise visit from some old friends who dropped in for a few hours on the chance we may be in.
