On my lunch break at the charity shop I'm volunteering at. I'd always wondered how they work behind the scenes, it's pretty interesting how the processes work.
This store receives donations delivered by customers and will collect from houses. Each item is priced & the tag is coded for the date it was processed. Items are displayed for two weeks. If they aren't sold by then they are packed up and sent to another store in a different area for two weeks. After a few rotations they are sold on eBay or ragged & recycled.
So each store has donations, rotations and also receives brand new stock! These deliveries happen almost every day, so its definitely worth revisiting charity shops regularly if you're looking for something specific!
