Memento Mori

It was Doors Open Day in Edinburgh today so we dragged the kids around a couple of sites starting with the Muesum of Fire and then the Royal Observatory at Blackford. We passed Greyfriar's Kirkyard in the morning so we popped in for a quick browse.

It was my first visit to the place and it met all my expectations. There were some particularly eye catching mausoleums and stones. This one had it all; skulls, iron railings, cracked stones, weeds, shadows and some lithic guardian watching it over.
