Companion on the canal
Today Beth and I walked along the canal. We thought the hills would be too wet and soggy after all the rain of the past couple of days. Then we found the towpath was muddy and soggy, the canal half-empty as it was being cleaned out. BUT all was redeeemed when this kingfisher decided to join us on our walk. He kept flying ahead, perching on a branch and waiting till we got close before flying on with his wonderful flash of blue. He also has a very red breast. A very special companion.
Earlier, OB and I went to see young Owen's Christmas school play. He played his part very well. In fact we were impressed by the whole troupe of 120 children.
