Smallholding

Following yesterday, spent the day chez les parents checking up on them and being sociable.

We passed this farm on a walk this afternoon. I spent much of my youth hanging about here with my close friends who lived there. The massive old farmhouse had lots of outbuildings where my friends' dad kept, as a hobby, calves, lambs, hens, horses and a deranged donkey. We had a brilliant time, though I remember it was the only house I knew that you had to wear many more layers than you would outside as it was always unbelievably freezing inside.

It was a bit sad to see that the present owners appear to be converting one of the barns and selling it off as an independent property.

Hmph. Don't like change.
