The Town Musicians of Bremen

Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten is a folk tale by the Brothers Grimm about a donkey, dog, cat and rooster – all past their prime – who decide to go to Bremen (known for its freedom apparently) to live without owners and become musicians. Not sure if they made it or not but Bremen has definitely adopted them as they appear in various guises all over the place.

This particular version of the musicians is in the Schnoor district, which owes its name to the shipping trade, and is the oldest quarter of Bremen.
