Archenemy... the Junco

Just kidding... but man o' man, this little bird is hard (for me) to get a decent shot of! Was it the lighting, was it the distance or maybe the vantage point... nope just a day of misses. Each shot had an issue; a little out of focus, the exposure a touch off and oops... is that a branch across his face?!? It became a challenge really... hundreds (I'm not exaggerating) of shots later, this one was the best of this quick, jumpy, dark bird.

Even though he tested my patients today... he's still pretty cute, even in large. And in reality, is one of my favorite little birds.

We just made it home from our holiday celebration weekend. Fortunately the roads were decent tonight and the traveling went pretty smoothly.
