Again, I had something a bit more conceptual planned but I was in town finishing off a bit of Christmas shopping and this just seemed more fitting instead...

#11 'Slow Focus' by F**k Buttons

I'm a late adopter as regards the Funky Buttons, I'm afraid, but I kind of made up for that with a thorough investigation their full back-catalogue of widescreen, banging stadium techno earlier in the year coming off the back of this rather fine album and then seeing them live as well. The good news is that all that Olympic exposure last year didn't mellow Messrs Power and Hung into providers of BBC2 background ambient and instead they've continued to bring the noise in epic thumping, surging and arm-waving rock-adrenaline style with undercurrents of paranoid danger - perfect stuff for doing the washing-up too, in fact...!
