Light me up
A day spent editing a paper and twiddling with references. Quite dull, but oddly satisfying as to me it signals the end is nigh and I will soon have a finished article to submit to a journal (refer to earlier delayed gratification discussion - it is a ta dah moment).
I have another paper to twiddle with tomorrow. And having submitted the above my old boss asked if I might want to spend my Christmas holiday writing a literature review for a planned paper intended to go to The Lancet. Funnily enough, no I wouldn't. But let's see about next year (that sounds nice and far away).
From tomorrow afternoon it officially becomes Christmas in my head (where The Lancet and other journals do not exist). I'm surprised how much I'm into it this year, having ignored it pretty successfully for the last thirteen years. Had a brief moment of Christmas mania and ordered a stick-on reindeer mural (a very sparkly naff one). That one was averted as I had some regrets an hour or so later and cancelled. But I'm sure another crazy idea is just around the corner. I like this idea for a christmas tree. Bring on the carol concert (tomorrow pm)!
