Newport Transporter Bridge

Had to go to Newport today and on the way back went over the town (City now) to the Usk river estuary to see the Transporter Bridge.

This was the only way, not many years ago, to reach the other side of the river. I can remember going on it when I was about 12 (Over 40 years ago!). It was recently renovated and re-opened when the Ryder Cup was in Newport about 2 years ago. Now I've found a nice place to park close I'll be back again for more images.

I've turned the image to monochrome as I feel it suits the subject.
