Edward Adrian Wilson ....statue

You may remember my delight when I discovered that Edward Adrian Wilson of Scott's 1912 Antarctic expedition was born in Cheltenham.

I realised today that there is a statue of him on Cheltenham promenade. I couldn't work out initially why I had not seen it before now but then I recalled that they have been replacing the pavement for the last nine months so I have not been walking on that side of the road and there have been fences up. It's a very appropriate statue with Wilson in his polar gear.
