St Thomas' Birmingham
I often try and think of witty, irreverent titles as you know but it really didn't seem appropriate today. This is what remains of St Thomas church since it was bombed around this date in 1940 during one of the many air raids that made up the Birmingham Blitz.
I would have been standing inside the church here looking towards the west portico. I did take shots from several angles but this is my favourite of them. Not least because of the way the Winter trees fill in the sky.
I'd like to be able to say that 2:45 is where the clock stopped on the day it was bombed but I doubt that's case. I'd also like to think that the building is made of Bath Stone (it stands on Bath Row by the way) but I'm really not sure.
A lot of the top half of the frame is actually converted to Black & White in order to accentuate the branches.
