1942 Military WL750
Day 9 and last show day of event,
The WL750 cubic-inch, side-valve engine was based on an early Harley design, but came to the fore in 1939 when the American government stepped up troop transport with the WLA model. the WL750 wasn't built purely for military use, but was also a all round machine and was also used in the famous Servi-Car.
With it being robust and reliable, Harley built over 80,000 WL units for the Allied was effort.
power output was around 23BHP delivered to the rear wheel by a 3 speed drive and chain.
This collection model with others on the stand was provided courtesy of Warr's Harley Davidson.
